Thanks to his numerous tours all over the world and his recognition by the audience as well as by the musical critics, Costas Cotsiolis is nowadays considered as one of the greatest guitarists of our time.

Costas Cotsiolis has been the art director of the Volos International Guitar Festival since 1978, where more than 9000 students appeared as well as about 400 professors and soloist from all over the world. Many fabulous guitarists started their international career as young talents at this festival.

He's been professor of the Conservatory of Athens since 1977 and of the New Conservatory in Thessaloniki since 1981, creating an exemplary school of excellent guitarists who have been awarded all over the world and have international career. For his activities, Costas Cotsiolis was awarded by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Greece in 1979.

In 1987 he published his book for guitar technique, The Virtuoso Guitarist (philipos Nakas editions). In 1998 he became an Honorary Citizen of Dallas (Texas). Since 2009 he is professor of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Since 2012 artistic director of "Guitar Art Festival" of Belgrade (Serbia). "For his outstanding artistic work and his excellent teaching and in addition his merit more than 30 years to give our instrument here in Greece an important stage which is well known all over the world." - He is honorary member of the EGTA-Germany, president of EGTA-Greece and D'Addario artist.

He played in concert halls like the Auditorium de Madrid, Grand Auditorium Radio France, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Concert Hall BBC, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie de St.Petersburg, "Tchaikovsky" Moscow, Palais de Beaux Arts Brussels, Palais de Congres de Paris, Athens Concert Hall ("Megaron"), Herodium Theater and many others.

He is a member of the Naxos Guitar trio together with Aniello Desiderio and Zoran Dukic. Composers like Theodore Antoniou, Sergio Assad, Dusan Bogdanovic, Leo Brouwer, Ernesto Cordero, Anton Garcia Abril, Vojislav Ivanovic, Rafael Fays, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Alberto Nunez Palacios, Yalcin Tura dedicated works to him. Besides he played many premiéres of composers like Theodore Antoniou, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Mikis Theodorakis, Sergio Assad, Leo Brouwer, Ernesto Cordero and others.
