Andrea Bozoki was born in Szeged, Hungary in 1964. Her first musical studies were piano and choir singing. She took up guitar at the age of 14, and after that she soon became devoted to this instrument. At 16 she started studying with Ede Roth, a renowned pedagogue of the guitar in Hungary. From 1983 she studied at the Franz Liszt College of Music in the classes of Zoltan Tokos and Laszlo Szendrey-Karper. After graduating from here she started teaching in her hometown, where she later founded the guitar faculty at the Conservatory of Music and the Vantus Istvan Highschool of Music where she is professor at the time being. In 1996 she was a student of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst „Mozarteum" in Salzburg with Prof. Matthias Seidel where she received her concert diploma. In 1990 she was guest professor at Eastern Oregon State College, USA. Her activity as a concerting artist and a professor includes masterclasses and concerts at Szeged International Guitar Festival (Hungary), Music Institution Osnabrück (Germany), International Guitar Festivals Odorheiu Secuiesc and Tirgu Mures(Romania) and several appearances in different sites in Denmark. Her repertory ranges from the early to contemporary music; she has played pieces by a number of Hungarian composers. She makes arrangements from different instruments to the guitar and she is very fond of playing chamber music.
