The Hague Guitar Duo is an exciting new duo formed by two young, award-winning classical guitarists Francisco Luís (Portugal) and Samrat Majumder (Scotland/India). The two met in the Hague as students of the Koninklijk Conservatorium where their enthusiasm for transcribed music in a chamber setting paved the way for a collaboration that explores music from the Baroque period through to music of the 20th Century. The duo focuses mainly on arrangements of music that fits two guitars in an expressive and novel way. Francisco himself has completed many new transcriptions for two guitars which the duo perform regularly. The Hague Guitar duo's interpretations have been referred to as "inspiring" by audiences, showcasing a refreshing view of the potential that the guitar duo format has to offer.
