Vicente Amigo is considered one of the most talented and outstanding creators of his generation. Tireless researcher of aesthetic and sound possibilities of flamenco guitar. His music captivates everyone. He has performed at all stages of the world, always with impecable and majestic technique. Musicians, singers and dancers who work with him, are always fused in an exquisite feast for the senses and a spectacular flamenco show.

Vicente Amigo is now one of the great masters of flamenco guitar, with his special inner sensitivity, he turns his touch, at once intimate and rhythmic.

On 2013 with his seventh album "Tierra" which places the Spanish musician in a more global and less tied at the orthodox flamenco, always with his inspiration and virtuosity that characterize him.
The great flamenco guitarist has opened the window to his music though the hands of the British producer Guy Fletcher, he has been recording in London with musicians of Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, Capercaillie, for offer an exceptional album, daring, where flamenco connects naturally with other roots music, opening ways without losing depth, keeping the southern inspiration wrapped in Celtic sounds, flying above styles, creating something new.

In 1988 he decides to start his solo career, appearing at Festival Nacional del Cante de las Minas de la Unión, obtaining the 'Bordón minero' first award of guitar competition. Soon after, he won the International Competition of Extremadura. His consecration as first figure of flamenco guitar was in May 1989 for win unanimously, the Ramón Montoya Award, for guitar concert at the XII National Competition of Flamenco Art of Cordoba.

From there everything is amazing progression and recognition inside and outside the Spain, inside and outside of flamenco. Since his first album, “De mi corazón al aire” in 1991 (recognized with awards "Icaro" (Diario 16 newspaper) and "El Ojo Crítico" (RNE) to the next two, “Vivencias Imaginadas” (1995) and “Poeta” (1997) the awards have followed, as well as offers to share stages and line ups with musicians as John Mc Laughlin, David Bowie, Stanley Jordan, Al Di Meola, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Milton Nascimento, Joao Bosco, Phil Manzanera, Paco de Lucía, Camarón de la Isla, among many others. in 1991 he shared with Paco de Lucia flamenco representation in the main international festival "Leyendas de la Guitarra"

With his solo work has won several awards, including the award flamenco of 'Music Awards' or Gramy award in 2001 for "Ciudad de las ideas". Among his discography we can find "De mi corazón al aire" (1991); "Vivencias Imaginadas" (1995); "Poeta" (with the Cordoba Orchestra and orchestration of Leo Brouwer, originally called "Concierto flamenco para un marinero en tierra” inspired by the work of Rafael Alberti, "Ciudad de las ideas" (2000) and "Un momento en el sonido "(2005) and" Paseo de Gracia "(2009).

With his latest work, which will be his 8 th studio album, Vicente Amigo returns to the roots. Flamenco music is the place which he belongs, the mythical terrain from which his art emerges, the same with his amazing mastery and in so many times has given arguments to créate his own fusion: with jazz, pop, with the global music ... It is not the case of Memoria de los Sentidos, an album in which flows the flamenco which real purists like, the one of the true origins.
In his most recent creation, Amigo brings together an outstanding group of first-rate flamenco artists, to offer us nine delights with song form. Potito, El Pele, Niña Pastori, Miguel Poveda, Pedro el Granaino ... great vocal collaborations, including Farruquito with his incredible dance and zapateao.

These recordings and his aesthetic on stage have made their public, extremely varied, both in age and tradition or musical tastes. It can be said that he has transcended the amateur flamenco fan to attract lovers of good music. His performances around the world are always a success, the audience remains fascinated by his incredible talent or their "daring" and bold pursuits, wich he, however, carried out with the utmost naturalness.
Vicente Amigo received the Latin GRAMMY (Best Flamenco Album) with his latest album, Memoria de los Sentidos, and he was also nominated to Best World Music Album in GRAMMY awards, 2017.
