ZAMFIRESCU Ionuţ
Acclaimed as “the best Romanian guitarist” together with this brother at the International Classical Guitar Festival – Sinaia 2002, Ionuţ Zamfirescu is the leader of the young generation of guitar players. He began to study the guitar when he was 7, together with his brother and sister under the direction of teacher Eugen Mang, and later started to attend the courses of “George Enescu” Music High-school in the class of the well renowned Liviu Georgescu. He is currently a 3rd year student at the National Music University in Bucharest, with the class of Professor Cătălin Ştefănescu. He performed in many recitals on major concert stages of Romania, both as a soloist and in duos and trios along with his brother and sister. In 2005 he succeeded in winning the first prize at Sinaia International Guitar Festival and Belgrade International Guitar Festival, thus becoming, at the age of 18, the youngest winner ever of these festivals.
He was also awarded numerous prizes in Germany, Serbia, Spain, Italy, Romania, and Greece, and attended many master classes with great maestros of international reputation.
