COJOCARU Mihai
Mihai COJOCARU was born in Bucharest, 1977 and began playing guitar in 1989, under the guidance of Liviu Georgescu.
He is part of the first generation of guitar high school graduates in Romania, in 1996 at the “George Enescu” Music High School.
In 1998 he went to Germany, where he graduated in the Faculty of Music in Weimar, where he studied with Gerhard Reichenbach and Thomas Müller-Pering. In Weimar he also took musicology courses for several years.
Since September 2008, a year after his return in Romania, Mihai Cojocaru is an artistic consultant of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic in Bucharest and a PhD student in musicology at the National University of Music in Bucharest.
As a guitarist, Mihai won prizes at various national and international competitions (Third Prize in Sinaia in 1996, 1997, 2003, First Prize in Craiova in 1993, 1997, First Prize at the National Music Contest in 1994, 1995, 1996) and has performed recitals and concerts in Romania, Germany and USA.
