AGUIRRE MIñARRO Rafael
Rafael Aguirre Miñarro is an artist whose deep musical understanding and dazzling virtuosity defines him as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. Born in Malaga in 1984, he started his musical studies at age 7, finishing with the highest marks in the Malaga Conservatory. At age 16, he did his orchestral debut performing the ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’ with the Malaga Youth Philharmonic Orchestra on a tour that included several cities across Spain and Morocco. During the course of his education, his remarkable talent allowed him to participate in master-classes with luminaries such as Joaquin Clerch, Angel romero, Manuel Barrueco, Leo Brouwer, David Russell, Alirio Diaz and Roberto Aussel.
He is the winner of 12 international first prizes in the Tarrega, Guerrero, Alhambra, Arcas, Pujol, Sor, Norba Caesarina and Koblenz and the only guitarist to win the Schmolz and Bickenbach competition in Düsseldorf , Germany.
He recorded for RTVE ( Spanish radio and television) and Naxos, being pre nominated for the latin grammy as “best classical album.”
As an international concert artist, Rafael has had the opportunity to play in 13 countries, giving recitals in renowned venues like the Tchaikovsky hall in Moscow,Palau de la musica in Valencia, Teatro Manuel de Falla in Cadiz, the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf, the Cervantes Institute of Munich, Holsclaw hall in Tucson (Arizona) the prestigious Ubeda and Granada international Music Festivals in Spain, and the guitar festivals of Monterotondo in Rome, Hallein in Austria, and Julian Arcas in Spain with orchestras like the Malaga Philharmonic orchestra, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen and Syrian National Orchestra.His next engagements include his Carnegie Hall debut in new york as well as concerts with orchestra and solo in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ireland, Peru, Washington, Columbus ( guitar foundation of America ), Boston and a tour in Germany and Spain.
Rafael Aguirre currently resides in the German city of Düsseldorf where he is teaching at the “Robert Schumann Hochschule“ having before studied there under the guidance of Joaquin Clerch.
